Objectives of the Project


The Women Support Group Center is pilot project of Bansag Babai Inc., with financial assistance from the Philippines-Australia Community Assistance Program (PACAP) of the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and Social Action Center(SAC) & Justice Peace & Integrity of Creation (JPIC) will provide temporary shelter and protective custody to women ages 18-59 years old who are victims of involuntary or forced prostitution, illegal recruitment, battered/abused women, victims of sexual abuse, women in detention, women victims of armed conflicts and others.


A center in Sulu for a recreational and social space that provides a safe haven and opportunities for personal and economic development.


Objectives:

1. To provide seminars and workshops on moral and spiritual empowerment and health wellness welfare that will eventually counteract the cycle of destruction of women and children,

2. To employ strategies of overcoming trauma and abuse with Qur’an principles and universal moral ethical standards, and

3. To deepen awareness of their rights, duties and responsibilities through education, health care and handling of domestic violence situations.

Center Activities/components are the following:

a. Moral & Spiritual Empowerment Development of Abused Women

b. Health Care and Wellness Activity
c. Skills Training on Basic Sewing such as Potholders,Rugs & Apron

Target Recipients: 50 “socially & economically challenged” women and female children
